Try fixing the boards Wingels hit behind our net and it would have been a completely different outcome! But ride high thinking you won fair and square. Sheldon's shot was a nice goal though, but hard to see if that would have happened if the momentum had not shifted after the fluky first goal.... |

Um, let's see. Beat the crap out of the Canucks, beat Nashville, almost beat the Sharks in San Jose, beat Minnesota, beat LA, and finally beat San Jose. That's 5 "playoff" teams the "experts" picked in the pre-season whereas Anaheim was picked to beat Columbus in the West.
Actually, I kind of like being underestimated by the rest of the league. I know Selanne was pissed when the press mentioned to him how low the "experts" had picked the Ducks to finish the season. He's definitely using that as a motivating factor. |

I just picked up Fasth in my pool. He should start every game the rest of the year. I've never been a Hiller fan. I don't like his style. |

Had Koivu not got that bounce, the Ducks would have found some other way to win. They dominated the Sharks. I'm just surprised the score was as close as it was. |

It depends on your goalie depth. Mine was terrible with Schneider, Theodore and Neuvirth. It was impossible to get a goalie through trade. Someone wanted Nash and Kassian for Howard. |

Scoreboard and stats show that domination you are talking about... Probably not. Found some other way to win likee they did in San Jose . You guys are playing well in comparison to last year though. Shaping up to be a strong Pacific division again... |

Actually the fluke bounce was not the only luck. Souray's "snipe" was actually thanks to Gomez who went to block the shot and it ramped off his stick. I don't know if it made the Anaheim feed but we got a great slow motion recap. I agree the Ducks had the Sharks' number though. It just would be easier to accept a loss if the other team scored at least one goal with out an odd bounce or deflecting it in our own net. Then again, you make your own luck and the Ducks worked for it.
That being said. San Jose does not belong in the upper echelon of teams right now. Their play has been poor, their passing is terrible, their power play is abhorrent. You did not defeat the class of the NHL, you beat a team on it's last legs. And since we got this complaint last time, yes, the play of Anaheim had something to do with it. But when San Jose struggles just as much against the Oilers and the Preds it may be a little too soon to call this a crowning achievement. The only difference between those two games and this one was a few bounces. The Sharks got outworked in four straight games now and were only able to scrape a few wins due to shoot outs. Don't let the record decieve you, something is very wrong in San Jose. |

Yeah, but their PK is top notch, top notch! Larry Robinson is working his magic with your guys. The Ducks went 3 out of 4 against the Kings the previous game. |

Way to stay classy.
If the puck had not bounced of the referee in San Jose then the Ducks would have won that game in regulation. |

You have to give Fasth the starts at the moment, go with the hot hand.
Hiller is still the #1 however. He always starts the season slowly. He will get better as the year goes on. |
